I now have seven kits in another nestbox. I did have eight, but one ended up on the wire and didn't make it. I hate it when that happens.

I'm still looking for a processor to butcher for me so I can sell rabbit meat. I very much wish there were a community processing plant nearby where I could merely rent a space for a small fee and process them myself for sale to the public. In any case, wishing is useless. I have to work for my miracles.

Cali- the Californian Rabbit is a breed, which, along with the New Zealand Whites and several other breeds, is very commonly used for meat and fur purposes. Calis are pure white with Lilac, Chocolate and Blue markings on their nose, feet, ears and tail.
Cull-To remove an inferior rabbit or animal from a herd to better the chances of survival and success of the rest. Animal is not necessarily killed, but often separated
FG-Flemish Giant, a breed of rabbit that can exceed 20 lbs.
Fines-the crumbs and pieces usually found at the bottom of the rabbit bowl. Because of their small size, fines are impossible for rabbits to eat in their normal form. Two solutions for fines include(A)a sifting feeder or bowl or (B) making them into treats with a recipe found online
Hybrid-A mix of two or more breeds of rabbit, used occasionally for meat and fur. A hybrid should ONLY be bred if you are sure of all the breeds included. If even one breed is unsuitable for your purpose, DO NOT BREED THE HYBRID! Example-Polish-New Zealand, New Zealand is good, polish is not--- DO NOT BREED!

ML-Mini Lop, a miniature version of a breed of rabbit with long ears which "lop" or hang down
NZ-New Zealand, a breed of rabbit often used for meat and fur. Especially New Zealand Whites because white fur is more easily dyed to order and less fur is visible on the meat. New Zealands come in Red, White and Black. The different colors are considered to be different breeds, so it would not be wise to breed them together and call the kits purebreds. Partial pedigree-An incomplete pedigree which may only contain one or two generation of ancesters. A partial pedigree may result in a full pedigree for the next litter when the partially pedigreed rabbit is bred with a rabbit with either a full or partial pedigree.
Pedigree-in rabbits, a handwritten , typed, or computer generated document proving the purity of a breeding line. A pedigree MUST go back three generations from both parents to be considered a full pedigree
Polish-A breed of rabbit which is not good for meat or fur, but which makes a good pet. It's small size and gentle disposition make it an ideal rabbit for children.
Purebred-a rabbit, with or without a pedigree, which has been bred through several generations of the same breed, not a hybrid
SF-Silver Fox Rabbits- a breed of rabbit, which, despite it's large litters, gentle disposition, and meat-to-bone ratio had nearly been extinct at one time."The two important features are [its] unusual long fur and evenly silvered coat. The coat is longer than normal commercial rabbit fur, with slightly coarse texture that should resemble the pelt of a fox.
