Rabbit on My Plate is about raising rabbit for meat, helping people decide whether it's for them and helping people to realize where their food comes from. It's about the hard work we as rabbit raisers do and why we do it. More than anything, though, it's about what it takes to raise rabbits and why we should be raising more for meat. It's tasty and nutritious. Low fat and cholesterol and very, very healthy.

Just a quick note, i bred all my does today. I recently sold my meat breeders, except Leanne, in hopes of aquiring more purebreds. Leanne, i discovered, has a lump on her belly, some sort of fatty deposit. She is quite overweight, which may explain it. Hopefully it is gone before the kits are born, if the mating takes, or they could die from starvation or even put her in danger, which is the very last thing I want. This is a first litter, so my hopes are low. I only hope to have some rabbit for the table, but dont know if i will have any for a while, my only meat breeder being an overweight first time mother.
